Flip-flops can work properly as long as their setup and hold
times are satisfied. If these are violated then metastability will occur. That
means we can’t predict the value of the output. For example, if we put a ball top of
a mountain, it can fall on either side of the mountain depending on the force of
the air. Same situation happens with the flip-flop also.
